Within Lorton and a walk away we have a village shop which has a cafe and the award winning Wheatsheaf Public House where a warm welcome awaits; there are indoor or outdoor eating areas depending on the time of year.
The renowned Kirkstile Inn is located at the foot of Melbreak around 5 miles away, where you can sample the award winning Loweswater Gold as well as the fantastic food menu. We are within easy reach of the West Cumbrian Lakes including Crummock, Loweswater and Buttermere.
Situated 4 miles from the market town of Cockermouth where you can find butchers, bakers, local craft shops, bars/cafes and restaurants as well as high street food stores. Keswick is 8 miles, via the B5292 over the Whinlatter Pass, again a market town, the 77 bus is available to Keswick and times are displayed within the brochure.
The farm is set within 600 acres where we have beef and sheep, depending on the time of year that you visit you may get to see new born lambs, young calves, sheep shearing or winter feed being harvested. Please note this is a working farm and access to fields is not permitted without permission.
Red squirrels and many different types of birds can be seen along with other wildlife.
